On October 24th, 2017, the Town of Virden hosted consultants from National Trust for a Main Street Boost Community Consultation. The National Trust Consultants engaged the community for two days generating ideas not only for the boost of the main street but in economic development, tourism and community development.

- Created Terms of Reference and implementation of joint Tourism Board between the Town & RM of Wallace-Woodworth
- Wrote an RFP to hire consultants for a Development and Concept Design Revitalization Plan - HTFC was hired in January 2020 - the project will evolve during 2020/2021
- Placemaking and brainstorming ideas for "hole" in downtown
