DECLARATION OF A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
The Town of Virden is encountering effects to the Municipal Well and associated water supply infrastructure due to rising water levels in the Assiniboine Valley, that require prompt action to prevent harm or damage to the safety, health or welfare of persons located within the boundaries, of the Town of Virden, and to prevent the supply of safe drinking water and the delivery of essential municipal services within those boundaries. At this time, there is no threat to the community itself, but proactive measures are required to reduce risk to the raw water infrastructure.
