EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GROUP COORDINATOR POSITION

The Westman Emergency Group (Town of Virden, RM of Sifton – including Town of Oak Lake and the RM of Wallace-Woodworth – including Town of Kenton and the Village of Elkhorn) is presently seeking an individual to fill the role of Emergency Management Group Coordinator. 

You would be the leader of a team of dedicated volunteers who would come together in the event of a natural or man made disaster or event.  You would help manage the needs of others during a time of community distress.

Those interested in applying for this position require organization and communication skills and are able to work well in stressful situations.

Virden Ag Society
Seeking Part Time Community Organizer
to assist in coordinating a community engagement process 

Seeking a part time Community Organizer to assist in coordinating/organizing a community engagement process for the purpose of identifying and carrying out a desired future for the Virden Ag Society.   The Community Organizer is a person who is well organized and connected to the community, including the Town of Virden, and the Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth.  The role will involve leveraging existing, and establishing new relationships with a broad spectrum of the community, promoting and marketing the event, and working with the support of expert project consultants and a local planning committee.  This is a wonderful opportunity to have creative leadership of an important community project and learn, with the support, of expert consultants and local residents.  Previous Ag Society membership or experience is not required.

Time expectation and duration

5 – 10 hours/week starting October 1st, with the community engagement event to be held no later than the end of November. 

The position may be extended until December 31, 2017.
