CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY

TERM POSITION 

The Town of Virden is accepting applications for a Confidential Secretary for a minimum one year term position.  This position will commence on or around September 4, 2018.

The successful applicant will report to the Manager of Administration and Human Resources.  The applicant will be required to perform all clerical duties as well as learn all aspects of the computer systems utilized by the Town.

The successful applicant must possess:

-  a grade twelve diploma with relevant post secondary education

-  strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with the public in a positive manner

-  the ability to work co-operatively and independently in a small office setting

-  knowledge of various computer software systems

-  the ability to respect and promote confidentiality

-  knowledge of basic bookkeeping

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GROUP COORDINATOR POSITION

The Westman Emergency Group (Town of Virden, RM of Sifton – including Town of Oak Lake and the RM of Wallace-Woodworth – including Town of Kenton and the Village of Elkhorn) is presently seeking an individual to fill the role of Emergency Management Group Coordinator. 

You would be the leader of a team of dedicated volunteers who would come together in the event of a natural or man made disaster or event.  You would help manage the needs of others during a time of community distress.

Those interested in applying for this position require organization and communication skills and are able to work well in stressful situations.
