Title: MB Arts Network: Manitoba Showcase 2017

Times: 12:15AM to 12:15AM

Description: Organized by the Manitoba Arts Network, this year’s Manitoba Showcase previews the incredible talent of 17 performers from across the country from October 20 to 21, 2017 in Russell, Manitoba. For 2 days, artists vie for the attention of rural community delegates in hopes of getting booked for the 2018/19 touring season. While the weekend is sure to help artists and rural community organizers network, it is also a great opportunity for the public to take in wonderful visual artworks, beautiful song and dance, or a theatre production for the whole family. The weekend begins with a Wine Tasting and Artisan Market featuring local visual artists on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 7 p.m. Performing Artist Showcases, emceed by Bruce Leperre from CKDM, are held on the Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. This year’s artists include, Gordie Tentrees & Jaxon Haldane, Don Amero, Diyet, CASATI, John Wort Hannam, Dauphin’s own Desiree Dorion and more. All Showcase shows will be held at the George P. Buleziuk Centre in Russell and are open to the public. Regular admission is $15/show. Tickets for Friday’s Dinner and a Show are $45 and includes a theatre show, 2 for Tea by James and Jamesy, and the Showcase #1 performances. Performing artists from the Parkland region are welcome to attend the Song Swap at 10:30am Friday morning hosted by BreakOut West or the Open Mic opportunities on the Friday and Saturday evenings at the Russell Inn.
